The Northern Colorado Regional Airport (FNL) is jointly owned and operated by the Cities of Fort Collins and Loveland. Located in the heart of Northern Colorado, FNL serves an important transportation role for the Northern Colorado region. It is one of only fourteen commercially certified airports in the State of Colorado.

FNL opened in 1964 with one runway and a handful of aircraft. Since that time the airport has grown with the region to a 1,050-acre facility with an 8,500-foot runway, full parallel taxiway, instrument landing system, 245 based aircraft, the capability to support commercial air service and a host of aviation businesses. Current on-site services include:

  • Airline transportation services (seasonal)
  • Air charter services
  • Aircraft maintenance and inspection
  • Aircraft engine repair and overhaul
  • Avionics sales and service
  • Fuel sales
  • Flight instruction for fixed wing and helicopter
  • Hangar and tie down leasing

FNL’s long-term vision is to remain a vibrant regional transportation center. Some of the proposed future improvements identified in the airport’s capital improvement plan include upgrades to the commercial passenger terminal, development of additional hangars, plus other exciting airport enhancing projects.
